TEACHING PROJECTS

Creating Classroom Libraries

As part of my graduate studies, I explored classroom libraries. My focus was on how new teachers can build their libraries through resources and grants as well as how to incorporate them into the curriculum. The project included a guide to creating classroom libraries (click the image to the left) and a far-from-exhaustive list of suggested texts.

Incorporating student voice

One of my other primary goals in teaching is to provide students with as many opportunities to make choices about their learning and their lives at school. If you click on the image to the right, you'll find a guide to doing so with looks at student choice in the syllabus, the classroom, and the curriculum. I also interviewed Pernille Ripp and developed a student feedback survey as part of the project.
